About Me

Smiling bald man wearing a gray sweater indoors.

Graham Kennedy MA, UKCP Reg.

Graham has been a therapist and trainer for over 30 years, specialising in the impact of disrupted attachment and developmental trauma. He is a UKCP-registered Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, working in private practice and with specialist therapeutic organisations.

Clinical Work

Graham has a particular interest in working with adopted children and their families, and has worked as a parent consultant and trainer for a number of adoption organisations including Adoption UK, PAC-UK and PACT. He has run support groups, trainings and webinars for adoptive parents, covering subjects including Child to Parent Violence (CPV), school-related issues, anxiety, and trauma-informed therapeutic parenting.

Graham also works with SWAAY Child & Adolescent Services, providing specialist assessment and therapeutic support for young people presenting with harmful sexual behaviours (HSB).

He has an extensive background in somatic trauma resolution and prenatal and birth psychology, and is both an Accredited EMDR Therapist and an Accredited Child and Adolescent EMDR Therapist with the EMDR UK Association.

Graham was also co-founder and joint principal of the Institute of Craniosacral Studies from 2000–2012, and ran a clinical Craniosacral Therapy practice for 30 years — experience that continues to inform his somatic, body-aware approach to trauma work today.

Teaching & Practice

Alongside his clinical work, Graham is a faculty member at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, teaching anatomy to acupuncture students.

He spent over 15 years studying and teaching Japanese martial arts before turning to the Chinese internal arts, and has now practised these — with an emphasis on Qi Gong for health and personal development — for over 30 years, primarily under the tutelage of Master Chris Chappell. He has a particular interest in helping students reach optimum levels of health and wellbeing, and has studied both Taoist and Buddhist meditation.
